Privacy notice
Effective 12 October 2026. Money Circle is run by Codeflow Technologies Zimbabwe Pvt Ltd, Harare, Zimbabwe.
Money Circle helps savings clubs run rotating circles (members take turns receiving the pot) and contribution circles (collections for one person, such as a funeral or a wedding). This notice explains what the app keeps, why, who can see it, and what you can ask us to do.
Money Circle never holds or moves money. Members pay each other directly (EcoCash, InnBucks, bank or cash); the app only keeps a record.
1. What we keep
About you
- Your name, mobile number, and email address if you give one.
- Your password — stored only in scrambled (hashed) form; nobody, including us, can read it.
- A profile photo, if you add one.
- A device code that lets us send notifications to your phone.
About your clubs and circles
- Which clubs and circles you belong to and your role.
- Payout dates, what you owe and are owed, and the payments you record: amount, date, approval code / reference, whether it was confirmed, and any dispute, due-date change or exit request with the reason you gave.
- For collections: what you pledged or gave (money or goods), and the payment details an organiser adds for the beneficiary so members know where to send money.
- Contributions an organiser logs for someone who isn't on the app: their name and, optionally, phone number.
EcoCash messages you paste
- Only what's needed to match the payment: amount, currency, approval code, date and time, and the other person's name on the SMS.
- Your balance and everything after it are removed before anything is saved. We never read your SMS inbox — only text you choose to paste.
We don't collect your location, contacts, call logs, SMS inbox, fingerprint or face data (the app lock is handled by your phone), or advertising data. There are no ads and no analytics trackers.
2. Why we use it
- To run your clubs and circles: who owes whom, payments, and confirmations.
- To match pasted EcoCash messages to payments and confirm them automatically.
- To send reminders and updates (payment due, confirmed or disputed, join and password-reset requests).
- To keep the service secure, for example limiting repeated failed logins.
We do not sell your information or share it for marketing.
3. Who can see it
- Members of your circle see members' names and the schedule. In rotating circles, the people you pay and who pay you see those payments.
- Club owners and admins see their club's members (including phone numbers), payments, disputes and requests, so they can run the club. They can reset a member's password when asked.
- Collections: members see progress and who contributed. If "show amounts" is off, only organisers, the beneficiary and delegates see individual amounts.
- Pasted EcoCash messages: only the person who pasted them and, for collections, the beneficiary, delegates and organisers.
- Platform administrators can see clubs to give support and suspend a club that misuses the service.
Our server runs at CloudClusters, USA, so your information is stored outside Zimbabwe, on secured servers, and used only to run Money Circle. Notifications pass through Expo and Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging), which receive your device code and the notification text to deliver it. We disclose information to authorities only when the law requires it.
4. How long we keep it
While your account is active. Payment records are part of your club's shared history and stay while the club uses Money Circle. If you leave, we keep your records for 12 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Backups are kept for 14 days.
5. Your choices and rights
- See and correct your name, number, email and photo under Profile.
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Ask us to delete your account (contact below). We delete your profile within 30 days; payments other members relied on stay in their circle's history with your name replaced by "Former member".

6. Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, the app can be locked with your phone's fingerprint or PIN, and backups are kept in restricted storage.
